Bloggers for Charity Auction Reboot

As hinted at yesterday, we have some important news.

A lot of hard work has been put in by James (who came up with the BfC concept and got everything together), the generous donors of figures, bases and artwork, various volunteer painters and others behind the scenes.  Yet despite this the final push of the BfC 2014 Campaign - the auction - has made little impact.

After some discussion - and with the generous support of current bidders - it has therefore been decided that in order that the original intent of BfC (to raise money through our joint effort for some pretty damn fine charities) be met we should re-boot the auction, which is hereby extended to 22:00 British Summer Time on 31 July 2014.

The lots remain the same - the 28mm French and Indian Wars figures donated by AW Miniatures and painted by volunteers from around the world.  In addition, Peter Barfield (PanzerKaput) has donated a piece of original artwork - the Woods Indian that featured on this page until replaced by images of the finished figures.  All lots (with current high bids) can be seen here - there's still chance to win some great figures at bargain prices (or to go silly 'for charitee').

The procedure or bidding has changed slightly.  Please e-mail diplomatist2<AT>gmail<DOT>com with details of the lot you are interested in and your top bid.  If you are bidding on an item that has not yet received bids then include both your starting bid and your top bid.

Can I ask all of you to do what you can to spread the word about the auction and that it's still running?  Thanks.

Edwin

Auction Update

Hello, Edwin here.

Due to some personal and technical hitches we've had problems keeping the auction page up-to-date.  We'd like to apologise to everyone for this.  The BfC planning group are aware of this and we're discussing what's best to be done.  Please have patience with us - hopefully, we'll have an update later today.

At this point we'd like to thank again all those who gave their time and effort in providing and painting the figures and artwork that are up for auction.

We hope to get the best results possible for the charities we've undertaken to support.

Figure auction for 2014's Bloggers for Charity

Well thanks to all the hard work of our blogging painters and the generosity of Andrew over at AW Miniatures I can now offer you all a chance to own some great painted F&IW 28mm figures.
I have created a page with all the units listed and pictures, if you want to buy one or more of the units continue reading for how I plan to run the auction.

If you wish to bid on a unit email your bid to <Deleted - see post of 30 June 2014>.  I will fill in on the page the current highest bid on any unit and the initials of the bidder, if two or more bids are the same the first bid received will be the highest bid. The Auction will run from the moment this post goes live till 19:00 June 30th 2014 London GMT. Please be aware that cost of postage will be covered by the winning bidder.

Last Three weeks

Well it is almost time for Triples 2014 and despite a bit of a wobble this week I am getting set for the weekend. I have all figures back and a huge THANK YOU to all our painters. I have the last few base's to paint and then I will grab some pictures to share.
As you may have noticed I have not been around this year and I wish I could say it is because life has been too full of fun, truth is I came very near to a complete metal break down early in the year and  it was only the support and help of my family which kept me on track.
I have to be honest and say that while it has been great to start and be involved with BfC and I still am amazed about how much help and support the blogger comunity has given the project, I will be happy to get Triples over and start the auction for the figures.
I wanted to take this chance to again thank each and every one of you for all your help and support and to say sorry to any who have been offended by my cutting of all ties I have shut my google account and the blog is now mothballed my FB account has been cut back to just my family and I no longer use any Forum's.
As I said at the top I should have some pictures to share very soon and hopefully I will be able to say hi to many of you at Triples.
